In this course, you will learn the basic concepts and definitions associated with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This material is foundational to all other modules, as it equips you with the basic knowledge to better understand how DEI can apply across an array of areas. We will begin by understanding the terms Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and provide examples of how each term relates to our beliefs, actions, and behaviors on a day-to-day basis.  

Disability Inclusion and Access

In this course, you will be given an introduction to disability in the DEI space that focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of disability issues, and the importance of including disability in discussions about diversity, equity, and inclusion. This course will provide participants with an introduction to key concepts such as accessibility, accommodation, and disclosure, and provide practical suggestions to ensure that your organization is inclusive and accessible by design. 

Unconscious Bias

This course provides an overview of the concept of Bias, both Conscious and Unconscious, including the neuroscience and historical perspectives involved in the brain’s connection with the emotional and hormonal responses to events that trigger specific responses in each of us.

Racial Equity

This course will provide the essential knowledge you need to understand race and racism. By answering the questions, “What is race?” “What is racism?” and, “How can I support racial equity?”, participants will gain a basic understanding of the topic that is currently at all of our dinner tables, in the media, in schools, and places of worship. Participants will also learn about the different forms of racism, and basic tools for recognizing and addressing each form. 

Understanding Gender Spectrum and Gender-Inclusive Language

Mental Health – The Importance of Neuroplasticity

In this course you will learn about several topics including: the Science behind Mind and Brain Health, the Psychology of Mindset, Positive Psychology, the Seven Principles of Resilience, and the Benefits of Implementing a Mentally Healthy Culture.
